New York City (November 26, 2008): The COOLWALL System, an exterior textured coating sold exclusively in the NYC area by full service remodeling firm MyHome, LLC (www.myhomeus.com), boasts a new, more environmentally-friendly composition. The new composition means architects can earn even more LEED credits than they could before when using COOLWALL. The new formulation debuted at Greenbuild 2008 in Boston from November 19 to 21, 2008.
COOLWALL System’s new formulation means architects have more of an opportunity to meet LEED V2.2 standards for recycled content, including buildings that contain recycled, salvaged, reused or refurbished materials. The new composition, which uses recycled glass, has a recycled content of 10%.
COOLWALL System uses heat reflective technology to reflect the sun’s infrared energy and UV radiation, thereby lowering surface temperatures by as much as 40°F. In fact, COOLWALL can reduce residential energy costs by 4.2 – 21.9%). And since COOLWALL also has Fade Block technology, property owners also have to repaint less frequently.
“The new formulation makes COOLWALL an even more attractive choice for green buildings than it originally was,” says MyHome President Mayan Metzler. “New York and New Jersey property owners were already benefiting from the significant energy savings COOLWALL represented, but now those interested in LEED requirements have an added incentive.”
TexCote, COOLWALL manufacturer, was able to take the new formulation from idea to market in only six months—a fact that highlights the company’s efficient R&D process. |
