Cleaning Area Rugs
Your area and oriental rugs are receptacles for dirt and allergens,
especially those placed near entrances and exits. Routine vacuuming
goes a long way toward maintaining their beauty, but periodic professional
cleaning is the only way to ensure they’re fully sanitized
so your home is as healthy as it can be.
MyHome’s Area Rug Cleaning specialists begin by carefully examining
your rug for fading, discoloration, stains, color instability, odors,
wearing, and damage. Once we’ve inspected the rug and taken
into account its age and nature, we choose an appropriate cleaning
method, which can include anything from soaking to dry brushing to
pressure wash spraying.
The first step in the cleaning process is to vacuum the area rug
to remove loose particles. Then we pre-treat stains and spills. After
we rinse and wash the rug, we then groom it and comb out its fringe.
The rug is then left to dry in a climate controlled drying chamber.
Before finishing, we inspect one more time to ensure all stains have
been removed.
Hand-made Oriental or Antique Rugs
Hand-made Oriental and Antique rugs need thorough sanitizing cleaning
just as much as modern area rugs, but due to their age, quality,
and fragility, they may need more careful attention.

all antique and Oriental rugs are manually cleaned.
After they have been cleaned, the Oriental or Persian rugs are dried
in a temperature-controlled drying chamber built to imitate the natural
drying process. Fragile antique rugs are air dried, however, to prevent
damage.
