Gutter
Guard Solutions |
The smart way to protect a gutter.
Fall is such a wonderful season.
We go outside to look at all the leaves turning colors, from golds
to reds. But when these leaves end up in our gutters, that’s
when we have a problem. Ignoring those leaves is the absolute worst
thing to do. Clogged gutters amount to trouble. Mold and rot can
develop where the water can’t flow freely, and damage to
the basement and foundations can occur when water falls straight
down without being channeled by the gutters. Cleaning the gutters
is a slow work, and accidents are prone to happen. Statistics show
that 6,500 people die every year cleaning their gutters in the
US, and 2 million people are hurt due to ladder-related injuries.
And autumn isn’t the biggest problem. In the springtime little
buds and flowers, twisters and pollen threaten your gutters. They
are a lot harder to clean than the leaves. Most people aren’t
aware that gutter cleaning needs to be done three or four times
a year.
The best solution is to install a gutter guard. The best type of
gutter guard is one that works by water adhesion, also known as
capillary action of water. Such gutter guards cause the water falling
off the roof to collect into the gutter, while blocking the little
twigs and leaves from entering. They protect your roof and your
home from water damage that would likely cost thousands of dollars
to repair.
It is important to select a brand of gutter guard that is easy
to install. Some of the better brands clip on your existing gutters
very quickly, and yet they offer very sturdy protection and have
a great capacity to take in heavy rains. You should also make sure
you choose a compatible type for your roof and gutter. Some brands
don’t fit higher pitch or lower pitch roofs, and some of
them don’t fit just any kind of gutter. Some brands fit all
types of roofs and gutters, and they are a safer bet. More info about Gutter Protection |
