Glass Cabinet Doors

There are many ways to incorporate glass into your kitchen cabinet doors – ask your designer about it. Adding glass is a popular way to spruce up the kitchen and display your favorite dishes or glassware, especially with country-style or mission-style kitchens. You can use transparent glass for a clear display of your items. This offers a clean, exciting look. For a modern look you can have patterns cut into your custom cabinet doors and have glass applied in the back. You can cut out shapes of flowers or animals, or even a modern abstract pattern. You can use different colored glass to compliment your kitchen or highlight items in your kitchen.

If you don’t want your cabinets to be on display but you still want the effect of glass, you can use textured glass. Textured glass comes in a variety of patterns and shades. It adds a dramatic look to the cabinets, without revealing the inside contents. Again, you can cut out patterns in the door for a partial display of the glass.

You can also choose glass with etching stencils, for an authentic country look for your kitchen. These etchings usually have delicate patterns similar to crèches, and they compliment the homey, country feel of a kitchen. For a custom design kitchen you could have etchings of different patterns according to you choice. How about an etching of your family portrait for one of your doors? Consult your designer and you will discover that the possibilities are endless with custom cabinets.

Another option is adding a decorative grill work to the glass, made of brass or other metal, for partial display, or choose lattice panels with wood lattice for a classic look.
