Choosing
The Perfect NYC & NJ Bathroom Sink |
The NJ or NYC bathroom
sink along with the shower/tub and toilet,
is one of the most important parts of your Manhattan or New Jersey
bathroom
design. Whether you choose a dramatic imported ceramic
vessel sink or porcelain his-and-her pedestal sinks, the color,
shape and type of sink you choose can have a dramatic impact on
your New Jersey bathroom’s design. Your home itself may even
guide your sink choice: a small city bathroom can be made to feel
more spacious with a wall-mounted sink while a sprawling suburban
manor would do well with a vanity sink.
Pedestal sinks feature a bowl placed at a comfortable standing
height that rests on a pedestal base. Porcelain pedestal sinks
are particularly popular because their white color complements
every design and they offer a clean, crisp look. These sinks, while
they save on space and exude a look of minimalism, lack the storage
of a cabinet or countertop sink. You can offset that lack of space
with a nearby bureau, medicine cabinet, or closet in an adjacent
hallway.
Wall mounted or floating sinks hand from a wall at a comfortable
standing height. You can purchase a wall mounted sink with a matching
base beneath the basin for extra support and to conceal plumbing.
Wall mounted sinks are a particularly wise choice in smaller bathrooms
(NYC) and for homeowners who crave the minimalist look. As with
pedestal sinks, wall mounted sinks don’t provide any storage,
so you’ll have to make provisions for storing toiletries
and sundries in your design scheme.
Vessel Sinks
Vessel sinks are simply bowls that rest on a countertop or, more
uncommonly, attach to the wall with a bracket. These distinct sinks
offer the most possibility for adding flare and a dash of panache
to your Manhattan bathroom design. An imported ceramic and glass
sink in any one of a variety of colors, designs, and textures can
serve as a truly unique focal point for your NYC or NJ bathroom.
If you choose to mount your vessel sink of a countertop, you’ll
also have plenty of storage underneath.
Vanity or Countertop Sink
A vanity sink is a basin that fits directly onto a countertop.
You can also choose an under-counter sink, which is attached to
the underside of the countertop. (This is the type of sink that
you’re probably most familiar with.) Both types of sinks
are used with NYC bathroom vanities and consoles to provide storage
space. Pairing the basin with the vanity and both in turn with
the bathroom’s overall design, can add texture and depth
to your bathroom In Bergen County or Plainview Long Island.
