An International Cache of Home Design
Products
MyHome: The Full Service Home Remodeling Specialists opened
their design showroom at 353 West 48th Street in September 2005
as the official inauguration of their design/build services. The
international range of home renovation products and staff members
reflects MyHome's spin on globalization. "Our goal is to
provide our clients with as many options as possible," says
MyHome President Mayan Metzler. "By building a diverse staff
of trained professionals stemming from regions like Russia and
Lithuania to Venezuela and Kansas, our design voice covers a broad
aesthetic."
The products featured in their stylish New York showroom have
equally exotic provenances, offering customers a one-stop, global
shopping experience. "We try and pick materials that reflect
our international resources," says Metzler. "And we
take great care in what we produce. Our tile selection is a good
example and ranges from the mimicked patina of aged metal and
concrete to Belgian blue stone to French limestone and Greek and
Italian marble." They source out the finest products in a
variety of price ranges and styles some of which are exclusive
to MyHome.
MyHome (www.myhomeus.com) was founded in 1999 by 2 young Israeli
entrepreneurs seeking challenge, adventure and success in New
York City. By 2001 a vision and a business plan were in development.
By the end of that year branding concepts and a logo were in place,
followed by the first web site.
Although the owners originally met working in a local flooring
company, the idea of building a unique business was the goal and
inspiration that propelled MyHome from vision to reality. They
believed that a full service design/build company could maintain
continuity and profitability selling all materials and labor while
achieving a high level of customer satisfaction. Rather than segmenting
and dividing the efforts, MyHome chose to keep the full scope
of work under one roof. The concept works!
One of MyHome's guiding principals is to listen to the client
and provide what they want in the most effective way. "We
refrain from imposing our own design preferences on our clients,
removing the discomfort many people feel when working with a professional
de signer," articulates showroom manager Marc Schlesser.
"Our goal is to provide our clients with as many options
as possible", says MyHome President Mayan Metzler. "And
with a diverse staff coming from all over the world, our customers
aren't limited to a localized aesthetic."
MyHome's is especially passionate about overcoming a public perception
of contractors as untrustworthy. They meet that challenge directly
via their consumer awareness guide titled, 15 Critical Questions
to Ask Your Contractor, a brochure that explains government licensing,
watchdog agencies, insurance and the process of comparing bids
as "apples to apples."
