CROWN MOLDING
|
Crown molding adds the feel of old world craftsmanship and attention
to detail to both your home and kitchen. Adding crown molding to your
custom or stock cabinets, especially tall cabinets that rise all the
way to the ceiling, can add a level of unparalleled sophistication and
a subtle touch of character to the room. Crown molding is, in essence,
a type of cornice molding. These single-piece moldings are installed
on an angle to the adjoining surfaces—in this case, the wall and
cabinet. With a myriad of profiles to choose from—from highly ornamental
to a simple classic look—there’s a perfect finishing crown
molding for a wide variety of kitchen designs. But make sure to meet
with one of MyHome’s Design consultants to discuss which crown
molding to use with your existing cabinets. If the molding is too big
in relation to the cabinet, it can become the focus of attention, detracting
from the cabinets and the kitchen’s other features. If the molding
is too small or overly simple, it can even look cheap and make your cabinets
seem cheaper.
