RADIATOR
COVERS & GRILLES |
| |
Most
home owners planning the next renovation don’t pay enough attention
to the visual appearance of their radiators. The obvious items (Kitchens,
bathrooms, flooring, painting, molding, etc…) get all the “glory” and
very little planning time if any is invested in the radiators. Too
often, one may see a newly renovated space, but the old radiators
have not been touched or were painted at best. Since most radiators
are not so visually appealing, they turn into an “eyesore”,
standing out in the newly renovated space.
Radiator
covers are the perfect solution. A radiator cover is relatively inexpensive,
easy to install, visually attractive, and may be used
as additional cabinetry or countertop space. A MyHome remodeling
consultant can help you design the right radiator cover to fit your
taste and budget. Your radiator will be measured and designed according
to your specific needs. You will have to select a style (Traditional,
modern or transitional), a finish color, wood species, and a type
of grill.
Some things to consider when designing a radiator cover are: Access
panels for service and controls, and allowing enough space so that
the radiator cover won’t over heat and burn. Radiator covers
can range in price from very basic inexpensive units, to custom made
covers that integrate with built in cabinetry. One of the great things
about radiator covers is that you can decide to order them even after
the project has started so you can always wait to see what the space
looks like without them until you decide.
