All of following might be signs that you need to consider a new
roofing project.
1.
Damaged shingles or valleys. Are your shingles
missing, curling, cupping, broken or cracked? Is there extensive
damage to the valleys of your roof?
2.
Gutter debris, such as leaves and twigs can impede drainage
and thus create an environment that can maximize deterioration.
Check the roof edges for debris as well.
3.
With flat or lower slope roofs, pools of water can commonly
develop, which indicates there may be a drainage problem that
can lead to erosion of your roof.
4.
Damaged Junctions. Is there deterioration around your chimney
flashing or vents?
5.
Granular loss. Is your asphalt exposed? Manufacturers cover
asphalt composition shingles with granules to repel the sun’s
ultraviolet rays, however natural aging can cause granules
to erode leaving the asphalt bare. Excessive granular loss
may mean there’s a problem with your shingles.
