Bathroom Design Trends From Instagram for NYC Homeowners

Instagram is where so many of us turn to to find inspiration for fashion, lifestyle, and of course – home design. There are endless images of perfectly styled homes from all over the world to be the subject of your NYC remodeling fantasies. It’s easy to want to take part in each and every trend you see. Our team has handpicked a few of our favorites to help you decide. Here are 5 bathroom trends popping up all over Instagram. As an added bonus, we have also identified products that may help you make some remodeling purchases.

1. Geometric Tiles

The Boho movement has allowed us to pull from a variety of retro design styles. Tile companies, as well as accessories like sinks and faucets, have embraced retro design aspects. When you look at design styles of the past, the Art Deco movement incorporated some beautiful colors with geometric and organic shapes as reflected in this design. The green and pink color palette takes us back to mid-century design roots, it’s a familiar color scheme. The geometric tile pattern is a modern and interesting element that offers up a beautiful backdrop, allowing the pink pedestal sink to shine as the focal point and it works. The grout color compliments the geometric tiles and makes them pop.

2. Focal Points that Make a Statement

Statement pieces will always be on trend and this bathroom is definitely making a statement. It is decadent and well balanced. The mural adds a unique one-of-a-kind feeling to the space and is a beautiful focal point.

3. Wall Sconces with Character

The wall sconces featured here are in a brushed gold finish. We are coming off a wave of metallic as a trend in design and this is a natural progression. Metals are wildly popular and when coupled with the accessories in this space, it ties everything together and unifies the design. It works because it has character and can hold its own with the large print wallpaper.

4. Art, Color and Design in One Bathroom

In a design world filled with so much gray, this bathroom works because it stands alone. The color palette is warm and inviting. It incorporates art, color and design into one tiny bathroom. The tile offers pops of color and contrast that extend to floor to ceiling. The floating vanity shelf is a space saving solution that leaves the bathroom feeling open and airy.

5. Rustic Modern Barn Door

Rustic modern is very popular right now thanks to shows like Fixer Upper. In this design it warms up the gray and white to give the space a country spa like feeling. The vintage style bathroom accessories compliment the space perfectly.
