25 Indian Road Kitchen Renovation

Before the Renovation

Before the renovation, the kitchen was defined by traditional oak cabinetry, aging finishes, and a lack of visual openness. While the space offered ample storage, the darker wood tones and dated materials made the kitchen feel smaller and heavier than it actually was. The homeowners wanted a brighter, more inviting environment that better reflected their style while improving the overall experience of cooking, gathering, and everyday living.

Final Project Reveal

This Upper Manhattan kitchen was completely reimagined to feel lighter, more functional, and visually connected. Custom soft-blue cabinetry introduced color and character without overwhelming the space, while improved lighting and carefully selected finishes helped create a brighter atmosphere throughout. The renovation preserved the kitchen’s practicality while delivering a more timeless and personalized design tailored to the homeowners’ lifestyle.

While the overall transformation is immediately visible, the success of the project comes from the thoughtful design decisions made throughout the renovation. Explore the cabinetry, storage solutions, and finish selections that define the space.

Custom Cabinetry & Storage

One of the most significant updates was the replacement of the original cabinetry with custom soft-blue shaker cabinets. The new cabinetry provides generous storage while creating a cleaner and more contemporary appearance. Open wood shelving was incorporated between the upper cabinets to introduce visual openness and provide a dedicated space for displaying glassware and decorative pieces, adding warmth and personality to the kitchen.

Countertops, Sink & Finishes

The renovation also included new quartz countertops, a farmhouse apron-front sink, and a textured tile backsplash that adds subtle depth and visual interest. Under-cabinet lighting enhances both functionality and ambiance, while warm brass hardware provides contrast against the cabinetry. Together, these elements create a cohesive design that balances durability, comfort, and everyday usability.
